Silver Value Chart

Steve just sent me the chart containing the silver values. Since it was an excel spreadsheet, I uploaded it to google docs. Anyone can view it here once you sign in with a google account. I'll try to find a better way to post it without needing a google account.

FEMA.gov disaster preparedness page

I think there are better resources but the government does have a lot of information here.

Thoughts on Disaster from Hurricane Katrina survivor

This link is a journal with many excellent points listed for surviving a Katrina type situation. The author appears to have some expertise and experience. He kept a journal of his ideas and thoughts throughout the Katrina evacuation. At the end of the page is a list of 100 "extremely desirable items" in the event of nearly any disaster. Here is the link.

Small Belt Survival Pack

Ok, here is a sample. It might not appeal to all of you, but if appeals to me because I like to spend time in the woods hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping. The second half of this article is about making an emergency survival pack and what to keep in it. Some good thoughts here.
Note: If guns are not your thing, ignore the first half of this article.

Let's get started

I'm starting this blog as a basic way of getting the ball rolling. This blog will be a resource for a bunch of guys who want to share ideas and possibly need to help one another in the event of a local or national crisis. As you send me information, articles, videos links, etc, I'll post them here and categorize them for future reference. For instance, if you come across a good article about generators, I could post the article, or post a link to it and if any of our group needed information about generators, this might be a starting point.

We could also post personal information that might be helpful to others. For instance, if you bought a certain generator and found a great electrician, you might pass on his name.

Since I am a Christian who believes God is almighty, and ultimately our only hope for life on this earth, or in the world to come, I'll be sure to keep the focus on the Creator. While it is wise and proper to plan for the future, we must never plan arrogantly or fail to depend on Him.
