How bad will it Get? Are You Ready?

While I pray that things don't get extremely bad in America, I know that they very well could. This is true for many reasons. One reason is that history teaches, and from history we have learned that all great nations eventually go into decline. There are other lessons regarding nations and individuals with heavy financial debt -- they usually collapse. Another serious lesson needs to be studied concerning the nature of constitutional government and the taking away of constitutional freedoms. Some people would rather die than give up certain freedoms. All these situations might lead one to the conclusion that our nation could very easily find itself in an extreme state of civil unrest. Should this situation come about, every American will have concerns about food, finances, and protection from mobs, gangs, terrorists, and even... well you get the point.

MRE (Meals Ready to Eat)

Here is an ebay store with excellent prices on MRE type food. You should have additional food options available to you, but the MRE solution is excellent for the short term survival situation; for example, when you are stranded in your car or at your office.

Update of water barells and water filters

1. Barrels. The source for the barrels seems to have dried up. Steve is searching for a new supplier.

HAM Radio

I don't know much about Ham radio, but I do know that in disaster situations it may be one of the only ways of communicating. If a group of us in a geographical area work together with only a few of us having and using a ham radio, we could work to keep the other families informed of their family members whereabouts and condition. 55 Gallon Water barrels

Steve has a contact to get water barrels but we need to order 20 in order to get the lower price.
I have two and would recommend at least two. Here is Steve's message:

The closed top barrels have the bung holes.
Otherwise, the barrels with removable lids and ring clamps have solid lids-no bungs.
